See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Our IVF PGD Journey So Far

For our first PGD cycle, I undertook the 'short' protocol (due to high antral follicle count). It was none-the-less quite long - three months from start of protocol to pregnancy test! As part of the protocol, I was prescribed Metformin for PCOS treatment in June 2012: initially 1500mg daily, and dropping to 1000mg due to intolerance.

The protocol took place as follows:
  1. Start Provera for seven days: 20/08/2012
  2. Provera bleed arrives. Start Microgynon (BC pill): 30/08/2012
  3. Withdrawal bleed arrives: 22/09/2012
  4. Wait. Start Norethisterone on CD 18: 09/10/2012. Take for ten days.
  5. Wait for withdrawal bleed. Start daily Menopur injection on CD2: 22/10/2012
  6. Add in daily Cetrotide injection on CD6: 26/10/2012.
  7. Trigger injection on CD11: 31/10/2012.
  8. Egg retrieval on CD13: 02/11/2012.
  9. Begin Utrogestan pessaries: 04/11/2012.
  10. Day 3 embryo biopsy: 05/11/2012.
  11. Day 5 embryo transfer: 07/11/2012.
  12. Pregnancy test: 20/11/2012.
Here are a collection of posts that chart our PGD journey up 'til this point. The story progresses in chronological order:
